5 Reasons Why Motaword Team Attends Industry Events (And You Should Too)

As all of you hopefully know by now, MotaWord is not yet another translation company. It’s primarily an innovation-driven technology company with a laser focus on delivering high-quality translation service to save our clients time and effort. While we have written a lot on localization and why you should have your website content translated into multiple languages, this is not the article for that.

It's impossible for modern companies to thrive without technology and innovation. Identifying and evolving with industry trends and finding new ways to keep our clients 100% satisfied with what we have to offer is what separates successful businesses from the rest - and us from the rest of the myriad translation providers out there.

One of the best ways to expand our industry knowledge and sharpen our innovation practices is by attending technology events and discuss the latest trends with industry leaders and experts in person.

That being said, there are other reasons why we do it also.

The 5 reasons that make us devote our time after work to attend or speak at various industry events are:

1. Any conference we’re part of is always an unavoidable learning experience where we acquire knowledge and new skills in an engaging and very efficient way. All events we attend are also an excellent way for us to connect with people outside of our immediate social circle and hear their thoughts about technology, innovation, business (and also our translation business as they perceive it) and understand what problems they’re experiencing and how we can potentially help solve those problems.
2. The learning also expands to the preparation stage for our speeches and discussion pieces for certain events. There is no better motivator to learning that being face to face with sometimes hundreds of people showing up to listen to you talk about how you innovate translation industry or advance the future of work.
3. Events are also a perfect way to get inspired by a cutting-edge technology (AI or blockchain anyone? ;)) or simply another brilliant business idea you never thought of.
4. Attending events also helps us to get feedback from our clients or potential clients so we can hear their thoughts and improve our service accordingly.
5. And last but not least, events are also there to have fun. Yep, you heard it right! We all are human beings and our brains need to get some rest. So it might be a good idea to spend an evening or two in the company of some amazing fellow industry professionals only to get back to work the morning after, well-rested and motivated to push ourselves ahead because we realize that what we do matters.
